Development Services Department
Mandate
The Development Services Department encompasses the Planning and Building Departments. Taking into account various Council-approved planning documents, Development Services advises Council on ways to meet the community’s objectives. To do this, the implications of a wide range of social, economic, physical and environmental issues on the livability of the City are considered. The Department also provides advice to other City departments, community and business groups, and citizens.
The function of the Building Department is to accept, review and provide inspection services for Building Permit and associated applications.
